February 26,2009 was a great day! After nearly losing dad(grandpa) in January we were so blessed and thrilled to suprise him with a birthday dinner for his big # 85. My brother(Phil) and I ,Cheryl and all dad's wonderful grandchildren and especially "Addie" dad's beautiful new Great Grandaughter were there to celebrate his life. Addie had her first set of shots that day but she was still such a good baby and let all of us enjoy her! Especially Grandpa... he calls her his "little doll". It was emotional and so much fun to see the happiness it brought dad, and he loved taking the opportunity of letting all his grandchildren know that he loved each one very much and was so proud of each of them and all the good things they do! What can I say but it was a miracle! And we only hope to enjoy more birthdays and just any day with dad! He is such a great and gentle giant to this family! And it is so fun to hear him talk about his plans for this summer camping, fishing with all of us. He wants to make many more memories! And we can't hardly wait!
